Bringing a carry-on bag, you can save a lot of time, especially if you are traveling somewhere for business, or a short amount of time. What should you have in your carry-on bag? Here are the things that you should always have in your carry-on bag:
Your tickets: this is one of the most important things to have in your bag. If you have ever been unfortunate to lose your checked bag with your return tickets in it, you won't ever want to forget to bring them in your carry-on.
Money: If you consider how many bags get rifled through by baggage handlers, why give them a cash bonus? Keep your cash on you or in your bag.
Jewelry: Always keep your expensive items with you. You won't have to worry about it getting stolen or even lost. Better yet, keep the expensive stuff at home.
Camera gear: Unless you are lucky enough to have gear that is packed with professional camera stuff, you should always travel with it. Many professionals even ship their gear ahead of time so that their equipment is waiting for them at their destination.
Perishable food: You aren't going to want to eat your perishable food out of your suitcase. If you want to have some food that is perishable with you, keep it on the carry-on.
Prescription medicine: Even if you don't anticipate taking any of your medication on the plane, you never know what might happen to your luggage. Make sure to keep all of your medicine with you.
ID and passport: You don't want these to get stolen or lost, so have them on the plane with you. You never know what might happen.
Fragile items: If you are bringing expensive trinkets back from a trip, if they are small enough, carry them on with you. You can pack them safely in your bag.
Itinerary: To know where you are going to land, and where you need to get your luggage, it's always a good idea to keep your itinerary with you.
Spare underwear. You never know what might happen on a flight. And it's always better to be safe than sorry.
